While churches often know where they want to go, if they don’t have a strategy to get there, it doesn’t make sense. Here at Eastside, our Kids’ and Student Ministries use a strategy called “Orange.”
“Orange” is merely the result of combining Red (the heart of the family) and Yellow (the light of the church). Alone, these two work hard to ensure that every child has a BETTER FUTURE. But when they’re COMBINED, the home and church will have an even GREATER IMPACT.
Put simply, “Orange” helps us remember that we want to partner with families in the spiritual development of all children birth-12th grade.
In classes, this involves using interactive and age-appropriate curriculums at church that are driven deeper through collaboration with parents in the home. Outside of class, it involves many leaders intentionally helping parents understand the current phase (physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually) that their child is in, as well as what each child needs most from the parent within that phase.
In the end, we consider it a privilege to partner with parents in so many ways, including forming your child’s earliest impressions of our wonderful God.
