Eddie White | Senior Minister
Eddie White became the senior minister at Eastside in June 2014 after serving as a youth minister, associate minister and preaching minister in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He met Karen, a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, while they were students at Harding University, and they married in 1985. He & his family moved to Brno, Czech Republic in 1992, where he spent ten years and helped to establish a congregation. As a minister, Eddie has been deeply involved in pastoral church care, preaching and teaching, leadership training, one-on-one studies, and counseling. Eddie & Karen have two adult children and two large, lovable dogs.
Matt Elliott | Worship Minister
Matt’s passion for ministry began while growing up in south Alabama — leading singing in church even before his voice changed, spending his summers at church camp, and, as a little boy, accompanying his father, a minister, on visits to the sick and “shut-ins” from their congregation. He has served as a youth minister for churches in Alabama and Florida, was the chaplain for eight years at a large Christian school in Atlanta, GA, and was a worship minister in Atlanta for 14 years prior to moving to Eastside in July 2009. His wife, Lela, is a licensed professional counselor/licensed marriage & family therapist for the US Army, and they have three children, Isaac, Seth, and Annie. Matt has a Bachelor’s degree from Freed-Hardeman College and a Master’s from The University of Alabama
Christy Smith | Children’s Minister
Christy is thrilled to be working with the children and families of Eastside as the Children’s Minister. She has a special place in her heart for children, especially children with special needs, as she has worked with them in various capacities over the past 15 years in private, church, and school settings. Her own three children (Bryson, Megan, and Luke) and her husband, Brian, keep her life full in every sense of the word. As a family, you will usually find them in the outdoors or tending to their uncommon backyard animals. Christy has a Master’s Degree in Psychology, specifically School Counseling, from Utah State University and is a licensed School Counselor. She began her work as our Children’s Minister in April 2016.
Jordan & Sarah Gwinn | Student Ministers
Jordan & Sarah met at Harding University, married right after graduation, and moved immediately to Colorado. They have been at Eastside for six years and have served as student ministers since January 2017. Jordan was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. He completed a second degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and likes to build and fly airplanes, being outdoors, and trying out all of the coffee shops in town. Sarah grew up all around the Midwest due to being a preacher’s daughter but most recently lived in Quincy, Illinois. Sarah loves to spend time with friends, read, being outdoors, and working with the church in any way needed. She has helped with the children’s ministry and the youth group while being at Eastside.
Lyndsey Gambrell | Staff Assistant
Lyndsey grew up at Eastside with a few breaks due to her dad’s military assignments abroad. She graduated from Pike’s Peak Christian School, then received her Bachelor’s from Oklahoma Christian and her Master’s from the University of Kent. She has done mission work in Vienna, Austria and worked with a mission organization while attending graduate school in Brussels, Belgium. She loves being back in beautiful Colorado and has a great passion for following God wherever He might lead.
Jana Austin | Bookkeeper
Jana was born and raised in Oklahoma, and she loves her Okie roots. She received her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Christian, where she also met her wonderful husband, Alan. Jana and Alan have three adult children and one grandson. She has been a member at Eastside since 1991 and has been working as our bookkeeper since 2013.
